i 100 libri "da leggere assolutamente"

l'anno scorso girava su Facebook e nei blog una lista dei 100 libri che BBC avrebbe indicato come "da leggere assolutamente".
immaginavo non fosse "veritiera", perché conteggia molti autori italiani... conoscendo gli inglesi, se ce ne fosse stato uno avrei capito, due forse, "molti"... no... non è originale, garantito ;-)
c'era un'altra cosa che mi suonava stonata: ad un certo punto era indicata "tutta l'opera di Shakespeare" e poi verso la fine dell'elenco "amleto"... è una ripetizione... non ha un gran senso in una lista di un articolo di giornale.

così ho chiesto a Google di indicarmi la "vera lista BBC".

eccola qui, tutto in inglese, ovviamente...
conto 35 letture fatte, certe. apprezzate e non.

ci sono libri che ho in libreria da leggere (come Cime Tempestose, ad esempio. proprio in lingua originale), altri che sto leggendo con calma biblica (Il Vento Tra i Salici), alcuni che non leggerò mai e poi mai (fatto sempre salvo il mio diritto di cambiare idea!), come tutti i libri di Jane Austen: ne ho letto uno perché qualcuno insisteva dicendo che mi sarebbe piaciuto... non mi è piaciuto! ne ho letto un secondo sperando di cambiare idea, non l'ho cambiata... basta.

e ci sono libri che prima o poi leggerò sicuramente...

si! vero! non ho mai letto Piccole Donne. non mi attira, che devo dirvi?

quel che apprezzo della versione originale di questa lista è... indovinate??? CI SONO UN SACCO DI LIBRI DI TERRY PRATCHETT!!!

non sarebbe stato possibile in italiano, lo so, è un autore di nicchia da noi. ma in lingua inglese è adorato come merita... e io sono solo strafelice di aver sottolineato tutti i suoi titoli!!
